The Molok Puppet Company was founded in Rochester, NY where our puppet was built. The Company came into existence following our puppetry workshop with Broadway puppeteer Leah Hofmann back in February 2019. New members are recruited in every town or city that hosts The Molok. The MPC meets weekly to rehearse with the puppet and test the functionality of its new parts before the performance or filming starts. Members of the MPC were cast as puppeteers in the film and are forever welcome to participate in future Molok performances. For more information on the MPC and how you can get involved, e-mail The Molok Team.
In the past years, we have amassed a collection of over 500+ storied items from our growing community, to be built into the skin of our puppet and added to our set design. We chose to make the process of our monster’s creation interactive so that we can give back to our community and provide an outlet for self-expression, whether that be cathartic grief or creative enticement. Object offerings have been given to us in a variety of ways: at our events, by mail, and even in-person pick ups. The Molok Team has hosted numerous events in New York and Pennsylvania where we present an always-evolving performance experience that ranges from fireside storytelling to large scale installations and workshops. Each of these have helped us build our community and served as drop off centers for object donations. Below you’ll find video recaps from some of our events. Check back soon for more information!
